Joining True Maryland, Coast will be one of two girls program offerings via True Lacrosse in Maryland
GLEN BURNIE, MD, June 04, 2022 Senmer News Wire — Girls lacrosse club, East Coast Lacrosse, will become True Coast after merging with True Lacrosse Maryland, making True Coast and Maryland United the two girls programs offered by True lacrosse.
Kristy Black, director of True Coast, stated, “Alex and I are beyond excited about our partnership with True Lacrosse. This relationship is important for the growth of our program, and will provide our players with more opportunities to grow as young females on and off the field.”
The program will be led by seasoned directors and coaches Alex Aust and Kristy Black, both of whom founded East Coast Lacrosse. Aust’s extensive connection to the lacrosse community has solidified her ability to aid players in the recruiting process in big ways. Alex started building many of these pivotal relationships during her time as the director of operations for The University of Maryland (2013-2015). Her playing experience ranges from being a gold medalist with Team USA to an official Under Armour athlete and current Athletes Unlimited professional lacrosse player.
Black was Hero’s 2020 Green head coach, and currently serves as a director for the East Coast Select Club Directors. She was also George Washington University’s assistant coach from 2012-2013. She was a national champion player (2012), with 4x Final Four Appearances and a 4x ACC Champion. Kristy’s experience coaching at the highest level all the way down to our youth has allowed her to create a network of amazing coaches and athletes both locally and throughout the country.
Suzanne Rich, True Girls’ National director, finds great pleasure in working with Alex and Kristy. “The two bring great energy and enthusiasm to our program. The dynamic pair are ingrained in the lacrosse community; together we will improve our athletes’ experience and take our national program to the next level. I am certain that their wealth of knowledge is going to completely elevate our girls community here at True.”
East Coast Lacrosse, soon to become True Coast, is a girls lacrosse club that practices on a year-round basis and participates in tournaments throughout the fall and summer. Middle and elementary school teams compete in a spring league. True Coast players have access to fall, winter & spring skill sessions coached by True Coast and current college players. True Coast high school players have the opportunity to attend a “Mind, Body, Sisters” winter program that focuses on fitness, overcoming obstacles and bonding with teammates.
Coast Tryouts will take place July 21-23 at The Moose Athletic Club, 1911 Crain Hwy. S., Glen Burnie, MD. Tryouts are open to graduation years 2026-2030. For more information, please visit md.truelacrosse.com or REGISTER HERE for tryouts!
