SALT LAKE CITY – Jan 22, 2021 – JUMP CEO James Jensen has been tapped to be a featured speaker at the ShowUp virtual event on Feb. 3 at noon EST. JUMP is a location-based, hyper-reality entertainment company that is the brainchild of Jensen, co-founder of virtual reality company The VOID. Jensen will speak on the lessons he learned moving from The VOID to JUMP.

The first trade show dedicated to the $20-billion family entertainment center (FEC) market, ShowUp, will be held live February 1 through 3 and hosted by location-based entertainment expert Bob Cooney. It will feature keynotes, roundtables, case studies, workshops, interactive live games, and multiple networking sessions. Over 80 global experts will be speaking and interacting with the audience, including Jensen.

“With JUMP, we are leveling up to an entirely new category of entertainment with hyper reality,” Jensen said. “Hyper reality means we are providing an experience that includes several sensory elements, including the feeling of wind and heat, smell (like the scent of pine trees), and the very real physical sensation of jumping and ultimately flying.”

The JUMP hyper-reality experience will include a “flight suit” and helmet. The simulator is a mix of a suspension and wind system that allows people to experience the extreme thrill of jumping off cliffs and skyscrapers without the danger. The first JUMP location will likely be at a major entertainment facility.

The JUMP team also recently released a documentary video showing how the inception of the company came about: https://youtu.be/3rXSzBSGIbQ. They also created a wildly popular TikTok video: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJ7psyt8/.

“JUMP is everything that location-based virtual reality should be,” said location-based VR expert and show organizer Bob Cooney. “James Jensen has once-again envisioned an experience that transcends what’s possible for people to experience in real life. Mustering the courage to JUMP off a mountaintop and fly close to the ground has the possibility to transform people. I can’t wait to experience it for myself.”

In 2019, Allied Market Research predicted the global Family Entertainment Center market would grow from almost $19 billion to more than $40 billion by 2025. While COVID-19 has derailed the growth forecasts for all location-based entertainment segments, it’s also accelerated new market opportunities for savvy companies.
