Dr. Robb has distinguished himself as a successful internal medicine and cardiovascular disease who is best known for his expertise as an interventional cardiologist. In addition to practicing medicine, he has devoted many years to academia and is currently a full professor of medicine at the Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine in Hanover, New Hampshire, since 2015. Aligned with the prestigious college since 1985, he rose from assistant professor to associate professor, earning the respect of many of his colleagues and other faculty members during his tenure.
Dr. Robb continues in his established relationship with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he has been a staff cardiologist for 36 years. Among his various noteworthy appointments at the Center, he was director of the cardiac care unit, director of interventional cardiology, director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program and director of cardiac catheterization laboratories and founder of the structural heart intervention program. He also chaired the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, was a member of the informatics committee and led the order set development for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s transition to the electronic medical record, and served on the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Board of Governors and multiple search committees. Dr. Robb maintained affiliations with the Cheshire Medical Center, the White River Junction Veterans Administration Hospital, New London Hospital, and the Concord Hospital, and continues to be affiliated with Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. During his many years in the field, he has been responsible for various types of diagnostic and cardiac interventional procedures, including approximately 11,000 diagnostic catheterizations and 6,000 interventional and structural procedures.
In addition to his full-time commitments, Dr. Robb served as a trustee at the Hospice of Upper Valley in Lebanon from 1993 to 1995. He was also on the board of trustees at New London Hospital in New London, New Hampshire, between 2003 and 2012.
An alumnus of Wesleyan University, Dr. Robb achieved a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and biology in 1973. He soon after achieved a Doctor of Medicine with highest honors, graduating first out of 283 medical students, at Indiana University in 1979. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Minnesota between 1979 and 1985. Dr. Robb is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology and has been a licensed doctor in Indiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Florida.
Dr. Robb is an elected fellow of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, and the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology. He is also a former New Hampshire governor and former member of the board of governors of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Robb has published many peer reviewed articles and abstracts, and his research continues to be cited in the medical literature. He has served on several AHA/ACC/SCAI Guideline Writing Committees.
In recognition of his many achievements, Dr. Robb was honored with a National Research Service Award from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, and was nominated five times for an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s department of medicine. He previously received several academic awards from his alma mater, Indiana University. Listed in Best Doctors of America, Dr. Robb is also a celebrated Marquis listee who has been cited in the 55th edition of Who’s Who in America and the second and third editions of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
