    NEVADA, MO, September 17, 2021 Senmer News Wire — September 17, 2021 William G. McCaffree has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Mr. McCaffree obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree at the University of Missouri in 1955 and 1957. In so doing, he studied also at the University of Texas Law School and in post-graduate education attended the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General School at the University of Virginia in Charlottsville. He was inspired to enter the legal profession by his father, an attorney who died at an early age, and by a guardian, J. P. Pritchard, who served with distinction as an attorney and as a Missouri trial and appellate court jurist. He admired especially the distinctive writing of jurist Benjamin Cardozo.

His military training included artillery at the University of Missouri, infantry as a draftee at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, and as an officer at Fort Benning, Georgia, armor as a company commander in the 2d medium tank battalion, 203rd Armor, in the Missouri National Guard. He served in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate of the Northern Area Command of Western Germany at Bremerhaven, Germany for approximately 3 years.

Upon returning to Missouri in 1960 he reopened his father’s original law office and conducted an active trial and office practice. He served as General Counsel for the City of Nevada for approximately 45 years. He described his work as that of “country lawyer” who can extend his practice by flying his ‘Bonanza” and was recognized as to trial work by induction into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. He served as President of the Missouri Trial Lawyers and as President of the University of Missouri Law School Foundation. In later years of practiced he also pursued public financing and contributed to a number of public improvements. Through recommendations to wealthy clients he encouraged and effected a number of substantial public improvements. In retirement he and his wife Jan, hope to contribute with affection to their family and especially to four granddaughters – who have enjoyed stellar academic progress.
