Dr. Cadet lends her considerable expertise to her work with Sycamore Haven Corp
STONY POINT, NY, October 18, 2021 Senmer News Wire — Maria Elena Cadet has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in organizational management from Nyack College in 2001 and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Mercy College in 2006, Dr. Cadet began as a family therapist with St. Dominic’s Home, where she conducted child and family needs assessments to identify safety concerns and apply individually tailored treatment plans. During that time, she also worked as a program coordinator for Volunteer Counseling Services Inc. Between 2007 and 2008, she not only drafted psychosocial assessments in order to better understand participant behavior, but also facilitated therapeutic group counseling for at-risk students. Likewise, Dr. Cadet collaborated with community stakeholders to develop and carry the Positive Alternative Suspension program, which aimed to foster improvements in academic behavior and performance.
Over the years, Dr. Cadet gained additional expertise in the field as a health care integrator and supervisor for Cardinal McCloskey Community Services and as an assistant administrator and clinical supervisor for New York Psychotherapy & Counseling Center, where she remains active today. In her dual roles, she manages daily operations for clinical services and staff, collaborates with cross-functional treatment teams, reviews client cases and conducts crisis management with the diffusion of potentially harmful situation treatment outcomes. In recent years, Dr. Cadet expanded upon her expertise by earning a Doctor of Psychology at Ryokan College in 2018.
A licensed mental health practitioner, Dr. Cadet also serves as an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College, where she teaches introduction to psychology, as well as general, developmental, abnormal and childhood psychology. Additionally, she channels her considerable knowledge into her work as a clinical supervisor, therapist and chief executive officer of Sycamore Haven Corp through which she treats a wide range of clientele. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Cadet aligns herself with the American Mental Health Counselor Association, the American Red Cross and Psychology Today.
In accounting for her success, Dr. Cadet credits her deep and abiding Christian faith, as well as her natural propensity for persistence, determination and consistent motivation. Among her career accomplishments, she is particularly proud to have helped so many people on their road to recovery, as well as the role she has played in stabilizing the lives of couples, families and children. Looking toward the future, Dr. Cadet aspires to work with victims of human trafficking and exploitation, many of whom need a safe place to reconstruct their lives and forge a path forward.
