    ATLANTA, GA, October 18, 2021 Senmer News Wire — Nathaniel Q. Smith has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in urban studies from Morehouse College in 1995 and a Master of Science in urban policy and analysis through The New School in 2000, Mr. Smith began in the field as a public policy manager for Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership Inc. Between 2001 and 2007, he advocated for local, regional and statewide policy innovations that were consistent ANDP’s mission and jurisdictional landscape, initiated and performed best practice research on various equitable and economic development strategies. Furthermore, Mr. Smith assisted in the development of speeches and presentations for the president, chief executive officer, chief operating officer and the director of the MICI department.

Mr. Smith subsequently gained valuable expertise in the field as the director of partnerships for equitable development at Emory University Center for Community Partnerships, where he initiated, managed and promoted university-community partnerships that promoted environmental sustainability via CFCP’s Sustainable Partnerships for Atlanta Neighborhoods program and offered technical support for government, nonprofit, community and private sector leaders and organizations. Backed by his professional expertise, he works today as the founder and chief equity officer of Partnership for Southern Equity, which aims to advance a new southern agenda for racial equity and fair inclusion. A child of the Civil Rights Movement, Mr. Smith serves as the primary liaison for the Partnership’s board of directors and represented the Partnership locally and nationally on various panels.

In addition to his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Mr. Smith has received several certifications in increasing personal effectiveness, influential leadership, project management and achieving leadership potential. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligns himself with such organizations as the Urban Land Institute, Georgia State Trade Association of Nonprofit Developers, the Atlanta Housing Association of Neighborhood Based Developers, the Civil League for Regional Atlanta and the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business, to name only a few. Alongside his work in the field, Mr. Smith also contributes to his community through Second Nature, the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the Institute for Sustainable Communities and Grounded Solutions Network.

Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, Mr. Smith contributed to “Equity, Health, Resilience, and Jobs: Lessons from the Just Growth Circle” and was featured in the Grist 50 in Grist Magazine. For his professional achievements, he won the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship for Public Policy and International Affairs through the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the Affordable Housing Champion Award through the Atlanta Housing Association of Neighborhood-based Developers, a Man of Influence Award through the Atlanta Business League, the Groundbreaker Award through Atlanta Magazine and an Image Award through 100 Black Men of North Metropolitan Atlanta. Among his career highlights, however, he is most proud to have established his own company.
