Ms. Diaz has been distinguished amongst the Outstanding Women in Banking

PUEBLO, CO, October 25, 2021 Senmer News Wire — Rebecca Diaz has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Diaz has found success as the vice president of Legacy Bank since 2017. Prior to this position, she worked for Legacy Bank as a bank teller, loan processor, and Bank Officer from 2013 to 2017. Prior to her tenure with Legacy Bank, her banking career started in 2008 where, from 2008 to 2013, Ms. Diaz gained valuable experience as a teller, administrative assistant and assistant manager for Wells Fargo.

In her present post, Ms. Diaz is responsible for consumer and commercial lending, marketing, community involvement, customer service, training, mortgages, and reverse mortgages. Rebecca believes that for community banks, the term “community” should drive the way local banks offer financial services and customer service to their commercial and consumer clients. She plays a leadership role in structuring and participating in community projects using Legacy Bank’s “triangulation” model. This is a community service philosophy of providing financial support, creative thinking and manpower to projects that help two or more local organizations.

She is active on the board of directors for the Pueblo Community College Foundation and the Sangre de Cristo Art Center. She is also in her eighth active year with the Junior League of Pueblo where she previously served on their board of directors as Treasurer for three years and Secretary for two years. Ms. Diaz is a supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo County where she served on the Board of Directors for over three years.

Since 2018, Ms. Diaz has authored financial education articles in her local newspaper. In 2018, she was nominated for the YWCA Tribute to Women. She received recognition in 2019 as one of the inaugural recipients of Pueblo’s 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders Award presented to 40 young men and women by the city’s Latino Chamber of Commerce. Also in 2019, Ms. Diaz obtained a Graduate Certificate from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado where she graduated with honors in the top 10% of her class. In 2020, she was selected as one of the Top 6 Women Bankers and Outstanding Women in Banking by Bankbeat Magazine. In 2021, she was interviewed on a podcast for Influential Women. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from the Colorado State University of Pueblo.

Rebecca practices three key principles of Leadership: Teach by Coaching, Lead by Example, Empower Your Team and Diversify their Skills. She tries to “coach in the moment” immediately following a positive or a negative incident rather than months after the fact. She believes she cannot ask an employee to do something that she will not do or has not done herself. This ranges from reloading the ATM in a blizzard to supporting another employee who needs help. She believes that everyone at the bank should have a specialized focus but should also be cross trained in multiple areas of the bank’s operation.
