She also has experience in complex litigation before the Delaware Superior Court and the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and in appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to joining Morris Nichols, Ms. Hendershot gained valuable experience as a judicial law clerk and fellow to the Honorable Collins J. Seitz, Jr. of the Delaware Supreme Court and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Abigail LeGrow then of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Ms. Hendershot’s exemplary performance in the field was born of her academic journey. In 2012, she completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, earning a B.A. in Political Science cum laude. Ms. Hendershot later attended Widener University Delaware Law School where she graduated third in her class and earned a J.D. summa cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Hendershot served as external managing editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. She was also President of the Transactional Law Honor Society and participated in the National Transactional LawMeet, winning the Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition. She was admitted to practice law by the state of Delaware in December 2016.
Ms. Hendershot also has an active pro bono practice. She volunteers her time with the Office of the Child Advocate and is appointed to represent minor children as a guardian ad litem in the Delaware Family Court. She also has experience in the landlord tenant field, and in 2020, she earned a pro bono trial victory in a forthwith eviction case.
Ms. Hendershot has also authored several publications, including “Boards Beware: Delaware ‘Garners’ Support for Fiduciary Exception to Attorney-Client Privilege in Section 220 Suits.” A consummate professional, she has been a member of numerous organizations relevant to her field, such as the American Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, and the Delaware Board of Bar Examiners. She is also involved with the Delaware Democratic Party where she is a member of the Wilmington Democrat’s 8th Ward and 4th RD. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hendershot hopes to become a partner at Morris Nichols and eventually to be appointed as a judge.
