Mr. Mosko is recognized for his expertise in stock trading
DENVER, CO, April 25, 2022 Senmer News Wire — Gary A. Mosko has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An expert in trading stocks, Mr. Mosko first developed a fascination with the stock market at the age of seven. Utilizing his wealth of experience, he currently serves as the president of Stanford Ventures, which has traded in international markets, stocks, commodities and currencies since 2004. Hailing from a family of skilled entrepreneurs, Mr. Mosko’s aunt and uncle, Ruth and Elliot Handler, established Mattel, the company that manufactures such toys as the Barbie and Ken dolls. His daughter is also an accomplished designer and was named to the Top 30 Under 30 list of Forbes Magazine.
Prior to Mr. Mosko’s career in finance, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, he was drafted into the United States Army Reserve. During his service, he worked as a medic in army hospitals, which he found greatly rewarding. Following his honorable discharge, he took ownership of Esko, a toy company, for four years. To prepare himself for further professional success, Mr. Mosko earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997 and attained a Master of Arts in finance from the University of Colorado in 1998.
Mr. Mosko entered the industry after his father, an attorney, bought Southwest State Bank, where the younger man began working as a stockbroker. After assuming ownership of the bank and becoming president in 1983, he sold the institution in 1997 to a local chain, whereupon he served as an owner at the Steele Street State Bank, which he also sold after five years. After a month-long retirement, Mr. Mosko began trading stocks again, through which he has collaborated with his stepson to pass on his knowledge of the industry and lessen his own workload.
An attempt to bring equity to the field of finance, the Community Reinvestment Act compelled banks to lend to minorities and underprivileged individuals, starting in 1977. Mr. Mosko spoke out publically about his bank’s commitment to helping minorities attain loans, appearing on the Tom Brokaw Show in the early 1990s to voice his support of the law and its benefits as a good business practice. In recognition for this activism, he was honored with the Martin Luther King Award by the Denver Chamber of Commerce and the Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A dedicated civic advocate, Mr. Mosko has also served on the boards for local branches of various charities and nonprofit organizations, including the Camp Association for abused children in Denver, the Rose Hospital and the Jewish Community Center.
Now that his stepson has assumed control over the business, Mr. Mosko looks forward to travelling more often. Looking toward the future, he intends to visit Italy, as well as Dubai, while also taking the time to enjoy his growing family.
