Serving as the organization’s neuro-interventional radiology section head, she specializes in diagnostic radiology, neuroradiology and endovascular neuroradiology, the latter including cerebral aneurysm coiling, carotid stenting, arteriovenous malformation, and emergent endovascular stroke care. Radiology Associates LLC was notably established in 1954. Dr. Snowden is among 16 other board-certified radiologists who provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients.
Dr. Snowden previously served as the director of the nationally recognized diagnostic radiology residency program at Integris Baptist Medical Center between 2013 and 2016, which was established by Radiology Associates LLC in 1969. She also helped initiate the neuro-interventional department, served as a member of Integris Health’s stroke team and was instrumental in forming the endovascular stroke team, which has since grown to become the most active stroke center in the state for specializing in interventional stroke treatments. Dr. Snowden has served over 15 years, and currently serves as director on the board for Integris Health. Additionally, Dr. Snowden served on the safety and quality committee of the organization’s health board of directors. Adjacent to her main responsibilities in the field, Dr. Snowden served for 20 years as an examiner for the American Board of Radiology. She also maintains research interests in endovascular aneurysms, arteriovenous malformation treatment, endovascular stroke therapy, carotid and intracranial percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting, and spinal and cerebral angiography and therapies. As the result of her years of study, Dr. Snowden has also co-authored several articles and given numerous lectures in her area of expertise.
During an earlier stage of her career, Dr. Snowden worked as a radiology technologist and nuclear medicine technologist. In that capacity, Dr. Snowden was responsible for establishing a nuclear cardiology laboratory at then Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Snowden and her husband Porter help to support through philanthropy the Arcadia Trails Center for Addiction Recovery through Integris Health, a modern treatment facility in Edmond, Oklahoma. She formerly served as the co-chair and chair for the Integris Baptist Medical Center Foundation Galas, and chairwoman of the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women” luncheon.
Passionate about medicine for much of her life, Dr. Snowden began reading anatomy books when she was just 14. After high school, she attended Miami University and earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She subsequently completed a residency at Integris Health where she served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she garnered firsthand neuro-interventional surgery experience. Dr. Snowden is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology through the American Board of Radiology and holds a medical license in Oklahoma and Ohio.
To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Dr. Snowden is a member of the American Heart Association. To commemorate her accomplishments, she was named as the Teacher of the Year in 2009 and 2012, received a Distinguished Service Award from the American Board of Radiology in 2010 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
